A Wife Loved Like The Church

In September 2009, I spent a week with my parents in Tennessee. Hannah was just shy of three months old and Julia had just turned 21 months. It was a crazy, sleepless, fun trip. One afternoon, my aunt came to visit. While there, she snapped this picture of Hannah on her iPhone.

On Monday, this arrived in the mail:

Honestly, my photograph doesn’t do the painting justice

Aunt Shannon decided that she would paint Hannah’s portrait from the picture she took. Isn’t it beautiful? We hung it in our hallway, where we hope to have a row of family pictures.

What’s your Friday joy?

Today is a day of celebration. Today is a remembrance of Christ’s death on the cross. His sacrifice for the world. While His followers at the time didn’t fully understand “Good Friday”, His followers now know that Easter would never have been Easter without Good Friday.

And what an amazingly good Friday it was.

What’s your Friday joy?

Folks, I’m turning 29 today. It’s the closing year of my fabulous 20’s. It’s been a grand journey and I’m looking forward to finishing the decade off with a bang.

Today I’ll be celebrating with a pancake breakfast, my favorite birthday dinner {poppy seed chicken}, spending gobbles of time with my wonderful family, enjoying a free dinner at Applebee’s and getting my much needed haircut.

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

It’s that time of year, where the candy aisles across America are painted with pastels and bunnies. That time of year that signifies the end of winter and the coming of spring. That time of year when the Cadbury Egg makes it’s stunning debut.

Whether a lover or a hater of these creme filled eggs, you’ve got to hand it to Cadbury for their great American marketing skills. I go a little egg-crazy once these chocolate goodies hit the shelf. Last year, after Easter, I bought several dozen {because, that’s what normal people do, right?}. Every year, as the boxes inch up in price, I still buy them. Typically only the individuals, because I have to practice some sort of self control, and if I bought four at once, well, I’d be tempted to eat four at once {and trust me when I say, it has been done}.

My biggest goal this week has been to find amazing recipes that call for Cadbury eggs. Like these Cadbury Creme Filled Cookies from Marie at Make and Take. Mmmmmm….

What’s your favorite springtime candy?

Here’s this week’s Friday joy:

{You might not notice, but H has cover up all over her lips – she really like putting on make up with me 😉 }

What’s your Friday joy? I’d love to hear it!

…Is my Friday joy. And my every-other-day joy, for that matter.

What’s your Friday joy? I’d love to hear it.

Well, I’m not actually in Iowa {although I’m not in Texas either…}. I’m just visiting Iowa via Kelsey over at Mrs. Dexter. I love Kelsey’s blog and I’m super happy that she asked me to guest post for her today. She’s doing a great series on coffee shops and I’m sharing my recipe for Banana Bread with Agave Nectar. Yuuuummmmy.

So head on over and take bite!

While we were packing to move, Hannah decided to take a break and make some tortillas. You can hear Grandma in the background – she was less than pleased. But, personally, I thought {and still think} it was pretty hilarious.

The other night Jonathan and I were working on my website {have I ever mentioned how wonderful it is to have a web analysis for a hubby?? Well, it is!}. Our jaws dropped when we saw this:
