Did we just move back to Texas?

Posted on: May 26, 2010

****Hosting my first ever giveaway on Friday!!****

The weather went from 53 degrees to 81 degrees in just over a week here in Iowa. Seriously? 81 degrees? Whew. I am not cut out for hot weather. Even after years in Texas, I still cringe at the idea of walking outside when it’s over 75.

To combat the crazy high temps this week, I made strawberry/banana popsicles. A couple of months ago, we picked up popsicles molds at IKEA for $1. Then at the beginning of this month, I scored V8 Fusion for dirt cheap. {Side note – V8 Fusion is amazing. You get a full serving of fruits and vegetables in every serving of juice. It’s like every mother’s dream come true.}

I poured the juice into each of the molds and stuck it in the freezer overnight:

Here is the finished product:

Sorry to disappoint if you were looking for an awesomely cute picture of the girls like these. But, seriously, these things are so good I’ve eaten half of them myself!

I could totally eat one of those right now!!!

Can’t wait to see your giveaway 🙂

Okay- did you get my reply about Scotland??? {=YES, come!!!!!}

Next, thanks for all the kind words about my clothes- we have an H&M- amazing.

Moving on, can’t wait for your give-away!! You know I’ll blog it! 😉

Lastly, great idea for popsicles! My kids {read that Luke} desperately need more veg (that’s what they call veggies here, and I feel cool saying it)…

Got the reply about Scotland. Just waiting to bring it up to Jon. I did some surfing today for deals so I’m armed and ready for my pitch. 😉

And hello, H&M is amazing. We’re going to Chicago this weekend so I might just have to do a little summer shopping.

Those popsicles look/sound amazing! We’ll have to pick up some molds on our next trip to Ikea so I can prefect my popsicle making skills over the next year while Baby Hager gets ready to eat them!

PS Scotland sounds amazing!

Thanks for the V8 juice tip – it is really good! We’d never had it before. I added 1 tsp. of unflavored gelatin per 2 cups juice (dissolve in 1 cup hot juice, add cold juice, pour into molds). The frozen gel is less drippy – a bonus when little ones are eating them. (Though like you I am finding that I am eating them all myself!)

[…] The Weather – Nothing puts me in a better mood than cool{er} weather. I am not a fan of summer weather. So each year when fall begins to cool things down, I am like a walking musical. It’s nothing […]
