A Wife Loved Like The Church

Losing It! And not just my sanity.

Posted on: February 19, 2010

In January, my friend, Leah, set a goal to loose 10 pounds by her birthday. Now, my friend, Laryssa at Heaven in the Home, along with Mary at Giving up Perfect, are doing a 10 week weight loss competition.

And I’m signing up.

After Hannah was born, I was determined to get back in shape. I was tired of feeling overweight, sluggish and unhealthy.  So, at my 6 week postpartum mark, I started running. 4 weeks later, I started two workout classes at Performance Fitness and did running on Saturdays. I was feeling pretty good and loosing weight. But, I feel like I’m hitting a rut. I’m feeling “fluffy” and a little a lot restless.

Here are my challenges/goals:

– complete the half marathon training on April 24th

– stick with my daily/weekly points (Weigh Watchers)

– incorporate more yoga/stretching into my weekly workouts

– actively work on getting ripped (or not so “fluffy) abs

– lose 8 pounds and reach my “ultimate goal” weight

You GO, Sarah! You can do it!

Yeah and Good Luck! I will be right there with you, well maybe not the running but everything else. I still have 8 lbs to go as well, so I will be cheering you on all the way!

sweet! if you do ab ripper make sure your ab wall is back to normal that they aren’t still separated from having babies! or else they will just get bigger! 🙂

Jamie – I was just reading about that the other day, but I’ve noooo clue how to tell if they’re torn/separated. Do you know how??

Looks like we have the same goals! I’m training for a 1/2 as well and have a few more pounds of baby weight. Good luck! Cheering you on!

I’m glad you’re joining us, and it sounds like you’re off to a great start in the exercise department already!

I commend you for your determination and goal setting! I would recommend, however, that once you reach your goal weight, find some form of sustainable exercise that will not require a lot of money or exuberance to follow. Also, make sure that it isn’t something that will continuously break down your body. If you need any help doing this, let me know! I am a bit of a geek when it comes to such things.

yeah.. so if you lay on the ground like you are going to do a sit up.. then bring your shoulders of the ground, along with your head… look at your belly and if you see a “triangle” type shape down the middle or even if you just touch in the center of your belly while in that upward position you should feel a gap between your ab wall! i still do.. if you do let me know and i can tell you some exercises to get it back! simple one is do your abc’s squeezing your ab/holding your breath (speaking out loud) 🙂

[…] and training goals, in an effort to break my pleatau that seems to be never ending, when I saw this post on my friend Sarah’s blog, I thought it would be the prefect thing for me!  I am highly […]
